Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment in which controlled acoustic or pressure waves are applied to a targeted musculoskeletal area using a handheld applicator and coupling gel. It is used in selected tendon, fascia and muscle pain conditions, usually alongside physiotherapy and progressive exercise.
